National President Elmer Charles opened the meeting at 10:00 A.M. He welcomed the Board of Directors, National Officers and Auditing Committee members. He was happy to greet everyone to this first quarterly meeting on this St. Patrick’s Day. This day comes two days after a much more meaningful day to the Hungarians, March 15th. March 15th is the most memorable historical day for we Hungarians. The historical date that we remember today brings to our attention the past, and demands from us loyalty to our heritage and the freedom for which our forefathers gave their lives. Today, we Hungarians are proud of March 15th, the “Hungarian Independence Day” and will continue to be proud, for on this day in 1848 many died tor freedom, justice and independence. We proudly proclaim on this day to the world that a small oppressed nation bravely demonstrated that they were the champions of all the nations for freedom, mercy and justice. It is proper for us, the leaders of the William Penn Association, to pay tribute today, knowing that the man for whom our Association is named — William Penn — had on his family crest the words “Mercy and Justice.” We proudly join those who died for freedom, and dedicate ourselves as fraternal brothers to the continued support of our fellow Hungarians throughout the world, and here in our country, to help preserve freedom, mercy and justice. We now review and weigh the results of the previous year and set our goals for 1975 and the coming years. President Charles was happy to see the Auditing Committee with us at this time and extended best wishes to them for a successful meeting. He announced the following persons who were recently hospitalized: Miss Frances A. Furedy, Secretary to the President; Julius E. Somogyi, National Treasurer; William C.
