Fifth Annual Scholarship Dinner-Dance Held in Avenel, N.J. The New Jersey William Penn Associa­tion Branches held a Scholarship Dinner Dance on Saturday, April 20, 1974 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Avenel, with National Secretary, Albert Stelkovics present­ing New Brunswick Branch 19 President Joseph Arvay with a Scroll with National Director Michael Hegedűs looking on. music rendered by the well known Kara- Nemeth Orchestra. More than 300 William Penn members and friends attended which made the affair an enjoyable and successful one for all. The program was purposely arranged to be short so that more time could be spent in dancing and socializing. It being held in the Branch 16 area, the dinner dance was supervised mostly by the officers and members. Branch President Michael Hrabar and 50 year members receiving their 50 year Honor Pins, Mrs. E. National Auditing Committee member wel­comed one and all and introduced the MC for the evening Michael Hegedűs, National Director. M.C. Michael Hegedűs opened the program by asking Rev. Francis Vitéz, mini­ster of the Perth Amboy Magyar Reformed Church to give the invocation. The first speaker was our very popular National Vice President, Louis L. Varga from Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mr. Varga illustrated the very serious scholarship program being given by our Association and thanked all in attendance for their support. The next speaker our National Secretary, Albert J. Stelkovics, who is also Secretary of the Scholarship Foundation represented our National President, Elmer Charles who was still hospitalized after an operation. Mr. Charles is now back at the home office. Mr. Stelkovics brought us the President’s good wishes and encouragement to continue Mrs. Hrabar, Mrs. Bero, National Vice Presi­dent Louis Varga, Mrs. Radvany, Mrs. Varga and Mrs. Stelkovics. higher education. He also presented New Brunswick, Branch 19 President Joseph Ar­vay a framed Scroll, a Resolution of Ack­nowledgement of the $11,400 donation from Branch 19 to the William Penn Asso­ciation Scholarship Foundation. New William Penn General Agent in West Virginia Branch 0618 The Home Office has appointed Mr. Ezra E. Boehm as General Agent for West Vir­ginia. Mr. Boehm resides at 2615 Montana Ave„ Hurricane, W.Va. 255Z6 Tel: (304) 562-9762. Mr. Boehm is a well qualified insurance representative both in the Field and in Management, having served for a while in the West Virginia Insurance Department. For the time being Mr. Boehm will work on building his own Branch and Agency, but plans are for him to contact our existing West Virginia Branches to help build them with new members. Mr. Boehm is married and the Father of two sons and a daughter. We wish Mr. Boehm will in his efforts to help the William Penn Association grow and prosper in the State of West Virginia. 3
