An excellent dinner, prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary of United Church of Christ, under the capable leadership of Mrs. Elmer Charles and served by the members of Branch 296 followed. After dinner the Testimonial program began with the introduction of Mr. Arnold Miller, International President of United Mine Workers of America, who in his speech pointed out that his Union was once more in the hands and control of the rank and file members, thanks to the efforts of many, particularly Lou Antal, and it is his goal to make sure that as President of the United Mine Workers of America he carries out the wishes and desires of the majority of the Union members. Rev. Arthur Keyes, chaplain of Amal­gamated Clothiers and Homeland Ministries, United Church of Christ spoke on the values of unionism and fratemalism and paid tribute to the Honoree for his devotion to duty and God. Attorney Kenneth Yablonski, Com­pensation Director, District 5 and Hon. William DeMao, Mayor of Arnold, Pa., extended greetings. The highlight of the evenings program was the principal address by Rev. Imre Kovács, Pastor, United Church of Christ, Springdale, Pa. Rev. Kovács highlighted Mr. Antal’s achievements in the Union movement and in his services to the Church. On behalf of the Directors of William Penn Association, Albert J. Stelkovics, National Secretary, presented to Mr. Antal a “Resolution” extending best wishes to Mr. Antal. Mr. John P. Balia, Vice President and Chairman of the Board, presented to the Honoree the William Penn “Illustrious Member” Citation.
