Minutes of theBoard of Directors Quarterly Meeting EXCERPTS OF MINUTES August 23, 24, 25. 1971 1. The Board of Directors Meeting was opened at 10:00 A. M. by National Presi­dent, Elmer Charles. He extended cordial greetings to the Board Members, Auditing Committee Members and the National Officers. He stated that this was our six­teenth regular meeting of the Board during this administration. It was with sincere pleasure that he welcomed the Auditing Committee Members, since they were present for the Board Meeting at the beginning of their term of office and now again at the conclusion of their term of office. President Charles stated the Agenda is prepared. Although somewhat short, it covers many areas of endeavor which have taken place during this administra­tion. The National President announced the death of Mrs. Barbara Somogyi, beloved mother of National Treasurer, Julius E. Somogyi. He extended the deepest sym­pathies of the Official Family and the Association to Mr. Somogyi. He further informed the members present of the death of the following Illustrious Mem­bers: Stephen Csontos, Branch 59, Scalp Level, Pennsylvania; John Mokri, Branch 27, Toledo, Ohio; Peter Suprak, Branch 275, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a former Branch Manager. The Board of Directors, Auditing Committee and National Offi­cers rose for a moment of silent prayer in memory of all our deceased members. He offered congratulations to Director Rev. Jacobs upon his election as President of the Hospital Board, Del Ray Hospital. Director Rev. Jacobs is now co-owner of the Detroiti Újság and he extended best wishes for the continued success of this publication. President Charles offered congratulations to Director and Mrs. Frank J. Wukovits, Sr., upon their be­coming grandparents. Best wishes to the young couple and their son. 2. Chairman of the Board, John P. Balia, welcomed the Board of Directors, Audit­ing Committee Members and the National Officers. He was happy to see all of the Official Family in good health and fine spirits. He stated that now as our term of office is about to end we must prepare our reports to the Convention. Chairman Balia feels we can be proud of the ac­complishments we have made during this administration. Through unified coopera­tion, the task that lies before us can be accomplished wdthout difficulty. He of­­icially calls the meeting to order. 3 Chairman of the Auditing Committee. William C. Kohut, also addressed the Meeting. He stated it was just wonderful to be together at this final meeting. The Stewardship of the Directors and National Officers is very noteworthy. He informed the Board that the Auditing Committee performed their responsibilities to the best of their ability. He was happy to see so many of the members present who originally started four years ago. He ex­tended best wishes for a successful de­liberation. 4. Director Rev. Andrew P. Jacobs of­fered the Invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. 5. Secretary of the Board. Frank J. Radvany, called the Roll and the following were present: Elmer Charles, National President; Louis L. Varga and John P. Balia, Vice Presidents; Directors: Frank Bero, Stephen Danko. Michael Hegedűs, Stephen Ivancso, Rev. Andrew P. Jacobs, Dr. Andrew Kovács, Stephen Lang, Jr., Julius Macker, Frank J. Radvany, Joseph Toma, Louis Vassy and Frank J. Wuko­vits, Sr.; Albert J. Stelkovics, National Secretary; Julius E. Somogyi, National Treasurer; Gay B. Banes, General Coun­sel and Dr. Samuel C. Gomory, Medical Director. 6. The Agenda was presented to the Board and same was adopted with the proviso that any matter properly belong­ing before the meeting may be added thereto during the course of the meeting. 7. National Secretary, Albert J. Stel­kovics, commenced to read the Report of the Board of Directors, William Penn Fraternal Association to the 27th National Convention.
