Fraternally yours, Alexander V. Szabó, Br. Mgr. Paul J. Martin, member of Branch 8, is Democratic Candidate for Mayor in the Paul J. Martin November Election. Mr. Martin, an active William Penn member all his life. If elect­ed in November, the 34 year old Martin will be one of the youngest Mayors in Johnstown’s history — and one youngest in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Holder of both Bachelors and Master’s Degrees from St. Francis College in Loret­­to. Pa. He is currently the area Represen­tative for the Western Pennsylvania Re­gional Medical Program, headquarters in Johnstown. He formerly held the post of Executive Director of the Cambria County Community Action Council, prior to that he worked for the United States Department of Labor and taught Business Administra­tion at Cambria-Rowe Business College in Johnstown. Twice elected auditor of Branch 8, and an active participant in five William Penn Bowling Tournaments. Martin speaks in glowing terms of his membership in the Association. “The friends I made and the people with whom I have worked have been valuable assets to me in my career; I hope I shall be given the opportunity to serve them as Mayor of our fine city.” 13 Trenton, N. Congratulations to Branch 13 Bowlers, who won at the 28th Bowling Tournament in Pittsburgh, Pa.: Louise Vechy and Mar­guerite Beke won 1st place in Doubles Margaret Hamari and Betty Kennedy won in Singles and they all won in Team Events, also. Very well done by our Girls. The Men’s Team won in Team Event and Joseph Hamari won in Doubles. Our Annual Dinner Dance plans are made and the Branch is ready to go ahead, hoping to see all you wonderful people who come to participate at our Annual Af­fair. The date is Saturday, November 6th, 1971, at the Levittown Firehouse, No. 1, Tullytown, Bristol Rd., located off Route 13 at Mill Creek Parkway, Levittown, Pa. Dinner will consist of a Full Course Din­ner, family style, with stuffed cabbage. Music will be furnished by the popular Continental Gypsies. Miss Margaret Kovach, reporter Two William Penn members of Branch 13, Trenton, New Jersey were recipients of scholarship awards at the Annual Scholarship Dinner-Dance sponsored by the American-Hungarian Civic Associa­tion, Trenton, N. J. Louis S. Revesz The area high school graduates were Louis S. Revesz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Revesz of 390 Groverville Road, Groverville, N. J., and Arlene Radvany, daughter of Director ,and Mrs. Frank J. Radvany of 2006 Yardley Road, Morris­­ville, Pennsylvania. Louis S. Revesz is a graduate of Saint Anthony High School, Trenton, N. J. He is 17 years of age, and has been accepted at Georgetown University, Washington, D. C. He is the son of former branch mana­ger, Louis Revesz. Arlene Radvany Arlene Radvany is a graduate of Penns­­bury High School, Fair less Hills, Penna. She is 17 years of age, and has been ac­cepted at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 14 Cleveland, Ohio Our next Branch meeting will be held Sunday, September 5, 1971 and we hope that after vacation, there will be a large turnout of members. Branch 14 will hold its annual Harvest Festival October 9, 1971. Parents are re­minded to contact Rita Karnya if they want their children to participate in the Harvest Festival Dance. Her phone num­ber is 991-1744. Betty Strobl, Secretary. 18 Detroit, Mich. Branch 18 held their meeting for the election of delegates to the next conven­tion in September and they are looking forward to meeting other delegates from throughout the nation. Attention all Branch 18 Mixed League Bowlers, we shall begin bowling again in September and again we will bowl at the Thunderbowl Lanes. So start lining up your teams. You may contact Elvira László for the exact dates to begin our season. With the summer months being more than half over with, both our Branch and the Sports Club will again start to have their regular meetings and let’s all turn out for the September Branch meeting in full force. This may seem a bit premtaure, but our Branch has already formulated plans for our next Annual Champagne Ball to be held early in 1972. More information will be forthcoming in later months.
