This year’s festivities are historical ones because during this annual great fraternal event the 85th Anniversary of the founding of our Association will be celebrated. The Board of Directors wanted to utilize the opportunity when William Penn Bowlers and their friends and families will be in the city to properly commemorate 85 years of dedicated fraternal services rendered by the William Penn to its members and their beneficiaries. The weekend starts on Friday, May 28, 1971 with the arrival of the bowlers and guests at the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel which is located in the heart of the city’s historic Golden Triangle, where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers merge to form the mighty Ohio River. The bowlers will compete at Bowling City of Mt. Lebanon, Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, a suburb of Pittsburgh. Bowling will start Saturday, May 29th promptly at 9:00 A. M. after a brief opening ceremony and the traditional first ball roll by me as your National President. Management of the lanes have promised the finest, and we feel certain that the bowlers will be pleased. There will be a short Anniversary message, fine cuisine, romantic Hungarian dinner music, enchanting American and Hungarian vocalists, invigorating dance music from 9:00 P. M. to closing. Music to be furnished by the Greater Pittsburgh Hungarian-American Band composed of the areas best musical talents. The Board of Directors desire to have as many members and friends as possible attend this gala Anniversary, thus the price of the Dinner Ticket has been set at only $5.00 per person, which is really a treat and another way for the Board of Directors and Officers to express their appreciation to the many thousands of faithful William Penn members.
