VOLUME 5 AUGUST, 1970 NUMBER 3 Our Annual Bowling Tournament In Toledo, (A, Tremendous Success Certificate Holder’s Report Stitched into the centerfold of this issue of our official publication, the William Penn Life, our readers can find a Report and Financial Statement prepared by Dunne’s International Insurance Reports, an independent, world-wide policyholders reporting service. We urge you to read this Report carefully. It contains financial statistics taken from the Annual Statement filed with the Insurance Department of each State wherein the Association is authorized to transact business. Information occasionally reaches us to the effect that some of our former agents, now selling for other insurors, to further their own personal gain, at times, attempt to misrepresent the true financial position of our Association. One can readily see from this Report that the Association is in excellent financial condition. Now that you have seen what our financial position is, you can feel confident of the financial stability of William Penn. You, as a member, can further the progress and growth of our Association by recommending it to your friends and neighbors and by increasing your own insurance coverage as the need arises. 1972 Bowling Tournament and Fellowship Days The Board of Directors, at its regular quarterly meeting September, 1970 will select the site for the 1972 National Bowling Tournament and Fellowship Days. As of August first the Society members become officially William Penners. A heartfelt welcome and congratulations to our new brothers and sisters. We are happy to greet you in our beloved society. In the early evening of May 28th - the telephone rang in our home and a friendly voice on the other end of the line says: “Steve, I arrived safely in Toledo for the bowling tournament - Come to the Commodore and pick me up!” Sure enough, the voice belonged to none other than the wife of former National Director Michael Faczan. Ethel remarked on the lovely rooms that were assigned to them at the Motor Inn. This was the start of one of the greatest Bowling Tournament and Fellowship Days for the William Penn Fraternal Association. Toledo and Branch 27 are known for their leadership - Early Friday morning, the local committees were in action - President John “Ace” Nagy, Branch Manager Emery Percei were on the alert - seeing that everything was in order. Branch Secretary Mary Ivancso and her committee undertook the responsibility of handling the registration desk and banquet reservations. By noon on Friday, the lobby was buzzing with bowlers and their guests - all happy to arrive in the “Glass Capitol of the World” - to meet old acquaintances and to make new ones. Tournament Directors Frank Wukovits, Stephen Danko, and host Director Stephen Ivancso called a short meeting to check with the management concerning the hotel accommodations. Their re-Director Stephen Danko, Director Stephen Ivancso, President Elmer Charles and Director Frank Wukovits. marks were gratifying. Everyone was pleased with their rooms, and the beautifully remodeled hotel. Continued on page 2 Branch 27 - Bowling Tournament Committee
