Also on this same date we will have our Christmas Party for our children starting at 4 p.m. Hoping our Christmas Party will be a huge success as it has been and from the comments gathered from last years party from children and parents the Officers of Branch 8 feel that practice should be continued. Betty Edmiston, Sec’y 13 Trenton, N. J. The date for our Annual Children’s Christmas Party was chosen at the last branch meeting, which will be Sunday, December 14th. We are making arrangements to have a nice program, and lots of goodies and gifts for our Juvenile members. Juvenile members will be receiving an attractive invitation by mail as a reminder, so they won’t miss this big day with Santa Ciaus. Members and friends the date for our up-coming Dinner-Dance is January 24th. Plans now are “full speed ahead” for this big event. Tickets are being sold now, so I suggest if you intend to attend this Big Affair make your reservations early, because we expect a sellout. The Dinner-Dance will be held again at the spacious Polish-American Club of Central Jersey in Yardville, N.J., with Ample parking facilities. One of our big surprises about this affair will be the orchestra, so keep posted for more next issue. Miss Margaret Kovach, Reporter 18 Detroit, Michigan Dear Members—Now that the summer season is overwith and all of the vacationers are back your Reporter can now fill you in on what has been happening at Branch 18. We are pleased to report that Grace Csiszár is home from the hospital after undergoing surgery and Grace appears to be recovering rapidly. At this point we would like to announce the appointment of Mrs. Matilda Jagadics as the new secretary of our Detroit district office and Mrs. Jagadics comes well recommended as an efficient secretary. We sincerely hope that her affiliation with Branch 18 will continue for a long time and when you pass by the office, please drop in and say hello to her. BOWLING NEWS — We now have twenty teams in our mixed league and we bowl every other Sunday at the Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park. Come on out and watch your fraternal brothers and sisters in action and root for them. PAST EVENTS—Our recent childrens picnic sponsored by Br. 18 and the William Penn Sports Club turned out to be quite successful. The children were provided with games and races with prizes being awarded to the winners (and the losers too). The adult children also took part in things like playing cards, a Hungarian bacon fry and playing games too. The weather was not the best, but the turnout was. Shown here are pictures of some of the adults and children present and we are already planning this event for next summer. COMING EVENTS—Sunday, Decernber 14th we shall have our branch meeting, followed immediately by the annual election of Branch Officers for 1970. The meeting time has been moved up to 1:00 P.M. and we advise all members to be present by that time. You should all be present for this meeting in order that you may choose and elect your officers who will guide your branch for the coming year. Immediately after the meeting and elections, Branch 18 will again conduct their annual Childrens Christmas Party and we are expecting several hundred persons for this gala event. Santa will be there, Christmas carols will be sung, there will be gifts and refreshments for the children and most important this will be your opportunity to gather with your fraternal friends and renew old acquaintances, so don’t forget Sunday, December 14th. Next February 7th, Branch 18 will again stage their gala Champagne Ball which has been so successful in the past. The ball will be held at the Hungarian Reformed Church Hall in Allen Park and will begin promptly at 8:00 P.M. There will be champagne on each table, set ups, snacks and a good Hungarian dinner. You will dance to the orchestras of “Ziggy Bela and His Continental Gypsy Music” and “John Vespremi and His Naturals” for American dancing. The highlight of the Ball will be a “Charleston” contest and a “Jitterbug” contest. So now is the time to sharpen up your dancing and perhaps you will go home with a prize for being the best dancers. So don’t forget, Saturday, February 7, 1970. Also looking ahead to the 1970 annual Fellowship Days and Bowling Tournament to be held in Toledo, Ohio, the committee has planned something a bit different in the way of entertaining you, so watch for further information from the Bowling Tournament Committee and make your plans early to attend this annual affair. Your Reporter has tried to bring you up-to-date on the happenings and events at Branch 18 and as in the past, if you have any noteworthy news items, please contact me at either of the following telephone numbers: 841-4258 or 261-1025. I’ll be talking to you next month. John P. Vespremi, Reporter 19 New Brunswick, N. J. The regular monthly meeting will be held on Monday, November 24th, 1969 at Union Hall, 286 Somerset Street at 8 P.M. All members are cordially in-6
