F F I C I A L PUBLICATION F THE WILLIAM PENN SATERNAL ASSOCIATION Almost 100 Teams Registered to Bowl in Our Annual Tournament in New York City Teams have registered from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Connecticut and New York for our 26th National ASSOCIATION VICE-PRESIDENT SEEKS RE-ELECTION TO CITY COUNCIL Mr. Julius J. Lenart, Vice President of William Penn Fraternal Association and life-long member of Branch 226, McKesport, Pa., is seeking re-election as City Councilman of McKeesport, Pa. on the Democratic ticket. Mr. Lenart is presently serving as Councilman having been appointed to that position January 2, 1968. Mr. Lenart has served the City of McKeesport as a member of the School Board, Parking Authority, Zoning Board of Adjustment and Appeals and Chairman of the City Democratic Organization. Mr. Lenart is married to the former Violet Borsi, he attended local schools, Duquesne University and University of Pittsburgh. Many social and fraternal organizations have Mr. Lenart as an active member, he is affiliated with St. Stephen’s Hungarian R.C. Church since childhood. He is also a licensed Insurance and Real Estate Broker with offices in the City of McKeesport. Mr. Lenart asks the McKeesport William Penn members for their support. Bowling Tournament and Fellowship Days in New York City on Saturday, May 31st and Sunday, June 1, 1969. An enlarged Committee is making all the preparations to make your stay an enjoyable one. The Nation’s “Fun City” is ready and waiting for all of us. The famous Hotel New Yorker, with recently redecorated rooms, reserved 400 for our use. This hotel, our Headquarters, is located right in the middle of everything: the theatre, the movie and the world renowned garment district, across from the new Madison Square Garden, the Penn- Central Railroad Station. There are 3 large restaurants in the hotel and 4 others within 50-60 steps of the hotel. The Bowling Committee feels that if you could, and would like to, please take advantage of the reduced room costs the hotel management will extend to the William Penn bowlers and their guests, the same flat rate from May 25th to June 5. The rates are, for single: $10; double: $15; twin: $15; suite: (one bedroom with parlor) : $27. All bowlers will receive their schedules and paraphernalia as they arrive, from the reception committee, in the lobby of the hotel. Regular bus service will be provided by the committee, at no expense to the bowlers. Trophies will be provided for the team events and maybe, for the first time, for the number-one winners of the minor events also. — Score keepers will also be provided. The committee is working on a one hour cocktail party for everyone for Saturday afternoon in the hotel ballroom without charge. This will take place at 5:30 to 6:30 P.M. after the cocktail party everyone could enjoy their dinner either in the hotel’s 3 restaurants or in any one of the surrounding eating places. The official celebration and dance will start at 8:45 P.M. at the hotel ballroom. The winners will be announced at 10 o’clock. Please remember, there will be no charge for the cocktail party and there will be no admission charged for the dance. Dance and entertaining music will be provided by the famous Jenő Bartal and his orchestra. All those attending previous New York tournament dances still remember the good times they had with these special musicians. The entertaining program numbers will be rendered between dance numbers. The Bowling Tournament Committee requests all members and guests to make their hotel reservations as soon as possible.
