I’m sure it will be a tournament well remembered and enjoyed by all. There are some of our Mixed League Bowlers who would like to go if we could charter a bus, if we could get enough reservations from bowlers and guests wishing to attend, then arrangements for the bus could be made. Wishing Steve Sándor a speedy recovery who is recuperating at home, after being in St. Elizabeth Hospital for 61 days. He had a serious operation. Also a speedy recovery to Mrs. John Kostyo and Mr. Emery Szilagyi they also had serious operations. Congratulation to Steve Novak for being appointed General Foreman for Mechanical Maintenanceman by our Mayor of Youngstown. Good luck Steve in your new work. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Smith on the birth of a baby girl on January 14th. Leroy is our treasurer of William Penn Branch 28 Sunday afternoon Mixed League. We wish the little one and her parents good health and luck—how nice another Br. 28 member. Another William Penn member for Br. 28 is due July or August for the Graham family. For this honoring and extraordinary occasion we are having a dinner on February 16, 1969—12:30 o’clock at the Önképzőkör Club (Fulton-Lorain Sts.). Sunday, December 22, 1968 was a bitter cold day with frost and sleet covered highways, but this did not prevent the sturdy Juvenile members of Branch 52, Windber, Pa. from attending their annual Christmas Party. Approximately 75 youngsters and their parents braved the elements and enjoyed themselves at the annual event sponsored by the Home Office and the Adult Members of Branch 52. Santa Claus arrived at 2:00 p.m. and distributed bags of candy and Christmas Carol Books to the youngsters, who waited patiently in line for their turn. Christmas Party at Branch 52, Windber, Pa. Each whispered their Christmas Wish in his attentive ear. Entertainment was provided with a Piano recital. Music by Kathy Orris accompanied by Karen Demko. Mrs. Rose Orris led the group singing. A young musical group called the CHEVRONS provided modern rock-androll for the children. The group consists of four teen-agers, two of whom are Branch 52 members, they are Joseph and Gene Suto, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Suto and grandsons of Mr. John Suto, former organizer of the Rákóczi Aid Association. Mr. Joseph Suto was Master of Ceremonies for the group. The other members of the Chevrons are Joseph Kosnosky and Randy McDonald. Movies and Cartoons were shown by Harold Wissinger and John Orris. Refreshments were served by the Good Ladies of Wm. Penn. President Mike Charney thanked the members and their parents for attending the party. Our Christmas Party was a huge success even tho the weather was not in our favor. Christmas Carols were Branch 59, Scalp Level, Pa. Christmas Party. playing when Santa Claus appeared, greeted the children individually made them happy and feel at home. He is a great Santa Claus, he comes to our Christmas Party every year which is held in the Scalp Level V.F.W. Home. He treated the children with gifts and song books. We had a light lunch for the children, parents and guests. Santa disappeared with the children waving good-bye assuring the children he would be back again next year. Once again the William Penn was host to the annual Children’s Christmas Party of Br. 70 on Sunday, December 15, 1968 at the Kearny Moose Hall. Mr. Thomas Greenley was chairman and did an excellent job of providing entertainment for the 73 children in attendance. Christmas movies were shown and then everyone joined in cheerful 6
