196 Konecsny Károly Several plans were made for the control of the regularly occurring agricultural water shortage of the flat areas of the Upper Tisza region. No large scale building of reservoirs are planned in the mountainous part in Ukraine, due to financial reasons, and they consider only the construction of emergency flood control reservoirs. Several alternative solutions were planned for the Nyírség region in Hungary. The design of the emergency reservoirs of the Hungarian flood-control programme called Vásárhelyi-Plan Update considers waterretaining role as well.
