206 Pándi G.—Sorocovschi V , —Barna Е. М. sum of the energy used for transporting sediment particles (ET) and the hydraulic energy of the liquid phase (ER), that is EM=ET + ER. The energy of the bi-phase water can be determined for the slopes and the channels, as the linear energy of the stream (EM) or the performance capacity (PM). The energy represented by sediments can be calculated in a similar way. The energy can be calculated for the average runoff, for water and sediment discharges of a given probability and also for a flood hydrograph (Fig. 3.). The erosion efficiency is expressed as the ratio of the energy of suspended sediment transport to the total energy of motion. Although this ration is small it can not be neglected since this is the measure of the deterioration of the earth surface.
