betontartálya körül 60 cm szélességben szivárgó tér található, így a külső téglafal és a tartály között belül a torony körbejárható. Míg a tartály alatt szoba, fölötte kilátótér található, ahová a tartály közepén áthaladó vasbeton kürtőben, csigalépcsőn lehet feljutni. Eredetileg a tornyot egy tetszetős kupola fedte, amit feltehetően 1952-54 között végzett beruházások alkalmával a jelenlegi lapos tetőre cseréltek. Ekkor már az épületet az ide költöző agrártudományi egyetem számára alakították át, miután 1950-ben a szocialista hatalom betiltotta a szerzetesrendeket iskoláikkal együtt. A Szt. István Egyetem főépületének teljes műemléki szintű felújítása belátható időn belül megkezdődik, így remélhető, hogy a víztorony is visszakapja eredeti sisalgát.

thick walk with a 60 cm wide 'seepage’ space, so that it is possible to walk around between the outer brick wall and the tank. Under the tank there is a room, and above it there is an observation deck that can be accessed through a spiral staircase inside a reinforced concrete column in the middle of the tank. Originally the tower used to be covered with a cupola, but this was changed, during the reconstruction between 1952 and 1954, and today it has a flat roof. In 1950 the governing Socialist regime banned all orders and their schools, so at the time of the tower's reconstruction the building was converted into a university of agriculture. Renovation of the university's main building will begin soon, hopefully, this will include the restoration of the original cupola as well.
