szélesedő, kehelyszerű építmény vasbeton köpenyét csúszó- zsalus eljárással készítették. A víztorony működése ellennyomó rendszerű. A Kecelhegyen álló, 27,5 méter maga víztorony Kaposvár központi része fölé magasodik, ezért felületét sokáig reklámhordozóként is hasznosították. Bár egy ekkora műtárgy egyben a városképet is meghatározó építészeti elem, sajnos az egykori kivitelezők nem sokat adtak az építmény esztétikájára. A zsaludeszkák közti réseken kifolyt és otthagyott beton csíkjai az igénytelenségről árulkodnak. Utóbb hiába festették a tornyot kékre, a színvonaltalan kivitelezéssel aláásták az építész tiszta geometrikus formára irányuló törekvését. így vált ez a szép reményű torony a szocialista építőipar emlékművévé.

The water tower has an anti-push system. The 27.5 m water tower was built on Kecel Hill, and it is located in the central part of Kaposvár. For this reason it was often used for advertising purposes. A tower of this size significantly influences the character of a city's landscape, and unfortunately the contractor did not put a lot of effort into the aesthetic aspects. The remains of the spilled concrete that leaked from between the formwork panels were left untouched, which is a sign of carelessness. Although the tower was later painted blue, the poor quality execution undermined the architect's ambitions for clean-cut geometric shapes and a noble implici- ty. This is how this well designed water tower turned into a symbol of the socialist building industry.
