Kamuzu Banda, the Prime Minister, to you. This letter was handed to me this morning by the Prime Minister when he advised me formally of his gratitude for the assistance you and other members of your team rendered in helping the preparation of the pre-investment survey request for the Shire Valley. As he has stated in the enclosed letter, he fully intends to proceed with the survey without delay and has submitted to this office the Special Fund request as drafted by your team. He made an urgent appeal that every effort should be made by the Special Fund and FAO to commence the project as soon as possible. He particularly would like you to be the Project Manager, that is if it can be conveniently arranged. Otherwise, as he has stated in the Mtter, you seem to be welcomed any time in any capacity. It is extremely gratifying to have such a letter from the Prime Minister and I am taking the liberty of copying it for the information of FAO and the Special Fund.
