VERTEBRATA HUNGARÏCA MUSE I HISTORICO - NATURALIS H UN GARICI Tom. Vil. 1965. Fase. 1-2. The Zoological Results of Gy. Topái* Collectings in South Argentina 20. Weight-data of birds collected By Gy. Topái Zoological Department of the Hungarian National Museum, Budapest In the course of ray collecting activities in Argentine in 1961, I have also recorded the body-weight data of the collected birds. Since these data had been left out from my paper on the birds of the research area /HORVÁTH et TOPÁI, 1963/, 1 submit them in the present treatise. Beyond the usefulness of the mere publication of data, they might, in the case of certain species, be serviceable in the study of sexual dimorphism as well as the change of biological conditions in the several seasons. I deemed the publication of the results of measuring the body-weights the more meritorious as there are recorded in the material, besides that of the commonest birds, the weight of also some rare or hardly available bird species. In the followings, I submit the body-weight data of 185 birds belonging to 52 species. Weights were measured by letterscales, accurate to one /metric/ gram readings. Values given in tenth-grams are based on estimation Podiceps rolland chllensi s LESS. - El Hoyo, 4 January: juvenile: 122 Anas flavirostrls flavirostri s VIEI1L. - ids El Hoyo, 9 Feb., 9 Feb., 10 Sept.: 412, 385, 395; El Bolsón, 5 Sept.: 450; - jç: Si Hoyo, 10 Sept., 10 Sept.: 396, 392
