Plecotu s, auritus auritus L., and Plecotus austriacus austrjaçus (FISCHER) are systematically closely adjacent and easily confusable species.TOPAL' 3 investigations have shown that, in Hungary, Plecotus austriacus is rather frequent, whereas pi. au­ ritus is extremely rare. It is quite probable that the hosts shown earlier have also been PI. austriacus instead of PI. auritus . ' •
