The new season will be an even bigger one for the sports-minded Columbus, Ohio branch has augmented its teams from a 6 team league to a 10 team league. The city’s Parsons Recreation, where the Branch 129-ers bowl, is, unfortunately, not large enough to accommodate more than a 10 team league, having only ten alleys. Were it not for this, there would be even more regular bowlers in the league. New bowling shirts are to be issued the Branch 129 bowlers. Fishfries and other events are sponsored by the branch to raise sufficient funds to dress the players and provide other relevant needs. All this interest has helped build up the league into a very successful organization, as proved at this year’s accomplishments at the Chicago tourney, where Columbus won two top trophies and a number of cash prizes. .. Lou Tokar’s William Penn Insurance Ladies, backed by Sportsloving District Manager Louis Tokár, are looking forward to carrying their league tó bigger results this season. Bowling at Branch 129 has done much for the Columbus Verhovayans in the way of fratemalism, cooperation and friendship, all to the benefit of the branch and the association. Branch 129 enthusiastically endorses bowling at every Verhovay branch, in light of the statement above. The William Penn Insurance Bowling League bowls on JVlonday evenings at Parsons Recreation in Columbus. Fellow members, visitors and friends are invited to watch the happy Branch 129 bowlers.-----------------------------------------------Verhovay SEEKING JUDGESHIP% Journal---------------------------------------August A. I had the pleasure of attending the XXIII National Convention of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association during the week of September 12-17, 1955, in Pittsburgh, Penna. I shall always remember this week and all the good people in Pittsburgh, the kind people who in7 vited me to their homes, made me feel as though I was still in Chicago amoung my own friends, relatives and Verhovay members. The convention itself gave me a very liberal education in the procedures and the work that has to be accomplished by a convention. I will close for this month as I have much work to do. I am quite a bit behind in securing new members, so, I have to go to work. To all the, Verhovay members, their relatives and friends, whoever is contemplating more or new insurance, all I ask is: Please give me the opportunity to show you what Verhovay can do for you and yours.
