December 15, 1954.__________________________VerhoVUy _____________________________________gggl HEADS VERHOVAY DISTRICT FRED J. STIPKOVITS In this issue we introduce two new district managers. After his discharge from the Air Force, Mr. Stipkovits attended the. Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He graduated with aircraft and engine mechanics licenses sanctioned by the Civil Aeronautics Administration in Washington, D. C. His next employment was full line (sold all their products) salesman for the Cudahy Meat Packing Company, a position he held for four years until the company left McKeesport. Until his appointment to the dis trict managership, Mr. Stipkovits worked as an inspector at the Pittsburgh Steel Foundry in Glasspovt, Pennsylvania. Fred J. Stipkovits of McKeesport, Pennsylvania is one of the appointees. This personable young man has been assigned to manage Branch 152, East Pittsburgh, Pa. and Branch 226, McKeesport, Pa. The area between the two cities is rather large and is the site of heavy steel and its allied industries. Mr. Stipkovits was born in Kőszeg, Vas county, Hungary. At the age of two and a half he came to The United States with his parents and sister. District Manager Stipkovits is married to the former Doris. Ferry of McKeesport. They have two children, Sharon Marie, 5, and Fred Louis, 15 months. McKeesport’s much -in-demand sweet singing voice, Miss Helen Stipkovits, who specializes in Hungarian numbers, is the sister of Mr. Stipkovits. Branch 152 and Branch 226 members. are urged to give the new district manager their full cooperation by attending the branch meetings, paying their dues then, etc. If necessary, District Manager Stipkovits A veteran of World War II, the' recently named district manager was in the service from August, 1942 to December, 1945. As an aircraft mechanic with the rank of sergeant, his tour of duty led him to many parts of the Pacific, such as New may be contacted at 804 West Park Way, McKeesport, Pa., telephone ORehard 2-5709. His infectious smile, spontaneous wit and enthusiastic ambition are guaranteed assets to District MaGuinea, the Phillipines and Japan.nager Stipkovits’ Verhovay career. APPOINTED DISTRICT MANAGER ELMER W. TOTH The naming of Elmer W. Toth as district manager of the Homestead- Duquesne area is another step in Verhovay’s long range program of giving more young men the opportunity of joining their older full time associates in field work. The new district manager will assume on January 1, 1955 the managements of Branches 71, Duquesne, Pa., 82, Munhall, Pa., and 89 and 430, Homestead, Pa. The territory ♦ embraces a sizable population employed largely in the steel and iron industries and the field is a good prospective one. Mr. Toth, who incidentally is a twin, completed his schooling in the Homestead schools. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in February, 1946. During his two years in the military, he graduated from Radar School and also Instructor School, becoming eligible to teach the fundamental course in radar. His last year was spent mostly in instructing enlisted personnel in these basic principles, including teaching some of the science of radio and electricity. Upon his return to civil life, he was associated in the electrical field for United States Steel Corporation. i District Manager Toth has this excellent background to aid him in his new position: He is a licensed real estate salesman in the Homestead district. This experience will benefit him very much in his new work for, in the main, both involve public relations. As district manager he will meet the members, seek prospects, be representative, etc. The district manager is married to the former Miss Ruth Dorothy Walochik of Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, Pa. They live at 1032 Sunglow Street, Roosevelt Acres, Homestead Park, Pa. The members in the Verhovay area under District Manager Toth are requested to pay their monthly dues at the regular branch meetings, or, whenever that is impossible, to mail them to the address of the district manager. Verhovay inquiries may he made at the branch meetings, in correspondence or by telephone, HOmestead 1-5812. The full cooperation of the members of Branches 71, 82, 89 and 430 is urged to assure the efficient working of District Manager Toth.
