VICE PRESIDENT MACKER RECEIVES GIFT FROM DIRECTOR TURNER Julius Macker, Vice President, proudly accepts gold wrist watch from Joseph Turner, Director. Mr. Macker was an honored celebrity at the Victory Dinner. He was one of two veteran Verhovay officers honored when the Board of Directors chose his name, and that of Director Louis Vizi, to adorn the membership campaign that is annually staged in conjunction with the tournament. John Sabo Reappointed to Life Insurance Committee Post at Dallas, Texas National Auditor John Sabo- attended the Insurance Accounting and Statistical Association’s annual gathering the early part of May as tha official representative of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association. The Insurance Accounting and Statistical Association is made up of most of the insurance companies and the fraternal insurance societies operating in The United States and Canada. Our Verhovay has for the pasti four years been a part of this very important group. This year’s convention, held at Dallas, Texas, had over 1000 insurance accountants present ,and many instructive sessions were held to acquaint the insurance people with the very newest of developments in this very complicated insurance accounting field. National Auditor Sabo had charge of one of the work shops, delivering a paper on “Problems Experienced in the Preparation of the New 1953 Annual Statement”. He was reappointed to the Life Insurance Committee, also appointed to a special committee of the Fraternal Section which will work with the heads of. all the fraternal societies regarding proposed revision to the Annual Statement. This committee wil makp recommendations to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. DIRECTOR VIZI RECEIVES GOLD WRIST WATCH FROM DIRECTOR KOLOZSVARY Director Louis Vizi very happily receives the society’s gift which was presented to him by Director Colomain Kolozsvary. Mr. Vizi was one of the honored celebrities of the Victory Dinner. The Board of Directors chose his name and that of Vice President Julius Macker to adorn the tournament membership campaign. Messrs. Vizi and Macker have served continuously since 1939 as members of the Board of Directors. Coloman Révész Elected to Post National Secretary Coloman Revesz, who has lent his services to many worthy endeavors, recently was elected Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the American Service Institute, a Community Chest agency working with the foreign born. Mr. Revesz has been on the board of this agency for four years and is very much interested in having the foreign born become a part of the community in which they live. Official Notice to The merger of Branches 22, Whiting, Indiana, 55 Hammond, Indiana, 130, East Chicago, Indiana, and 229, Indiana Harbor, Indiana, all in an 'immediate area, was voted the evening of May 14, 1954 at a joint meeting held at the Branch 130 headquarters. Presiding over the merger session was Field Assistant to the National President Elmer. Charles, who congratulated the four branches on their merger under the name Branch 130 and urged the new branch to renewed Verhovay activity. A new district was created by this merger and Michael Tótfalusi was1 appointed district manager to ma-East Chicago Area nage the enlarged branch.
