December 16, 1953. Verhovay Journal PAGE 5 Hotel and Bowling Alleys Selected , „. Freddie Fitzsimmons modern, air conditioned bowling establishment will be the scene of the bowling contests to be rolled May 29-30, 1954, when the 11th Annual Verhovay Tenpin Bowling Tournament takes place. 40 firstclass bowling lanes will be at the disposal of our bowlers, all on the ground level. 1954 Tournament To Be Staged Here (Continued from page 1) appetizing- menu is now being prepared by the hotel to offer us for our dinner meal. Also, a 12-piece orchestra is being negotiated for, one which can offer good Hungarian as Well as American popular numbers. The dinner menu and the name of the orchestra wili be announced later. Branch 48, New York, N. Y., is a very busy branch these days getting- the tournament machinery set up for action. The branch president who is Director Albert Ibos, the branch manager who is Field Supervisor Joseph Toma, Director Aloysius C. Falussy, and others, are spearheading the formation of appropriate committees. Solicitation of advertisements for the 1954 Tournament Album will begin shortly. J. MACKER—L. VIZI MEMBERSHIP DRIVE The Tournament and Fellowship Days New Membership Campaign is now in action. This 1954 drive for new members is in honor of two hard.-working, loyal Verhovay members and officers who have for years served the Association nationally as members of its Board of Directors. Vice President Julius Macker, Detroit, Michigan, and Director Louis Vizi, Scalp Level, Pennsylvania, were at the last September Board of Directors meeting nominated for the honor of lending their names for the title of our newest membership campaign. Both these members of the Board of Directors have served three consecutive terms and are now serving their fourth. It would be quite fitting and proper that the Verhovay members paytribute to ihese two capable leaders by securing new members for both the Senior and Juvenile Orders. Two prospects, one Senior and one Juvenile, recommended by each and every Verhovay member, is not asking too much. Our branch managers have been alerted to contact all members for these prospects and we earnestly beseech all the members to cooperate with them. If you have a prospect, please get in touch with your branch manager TODAY — he shall do the rest. Branch 48 has promised many new members as its way of saying “Thank you” for New York City as the site of the 1954 Tournament and Fellowship Days event. Field Supervisor-Branch Manager Toma is already blazing the way and setting the example for the members of Branch 48, which he manages, and this example will also spur on the rest of our Verhovay membership to higher goals, especially in new membership. There are many thousands of good healthy young men and women, boys and girls, who should have Verhovay’s protection, and shall have it if the members do (heir part in this J. Macker — L. Vizi New Membership Campaign. THINK OF THE TREMENDOUS SUCCESS POSSIBLE!
