Born and reared in Dayton, Dis­trict Manager Sopronyi assumed his Verhovay duties October 1, 1953. He manages Brach 249, which branch some time back absorbed the other Dayton branches. Before has full time appointment, the Dayton district manager was a business man. He is a veteran who served in the Coast Guard from August 24, 1942 to March 29, 1946. District Manager Sopronyi has two main hobbies, golfing and fishing, and in more serious vein takes part in church activities. We wish our new Dayton district manager every success in his Ver­hovay adventure. Branch 76 To Bold Dance At Dalarda By JOANN McLAUCHLIN At a meeting held on September 12 at Branch 76, Philadelphia, Pa., it was decided that a dance would be held on November 8, 1953 in ho­nor of the older members who have contributed so much to the organi­zation. The dance, which is free to all members of Verhovay. promises to show everyone who comes a pleas­urable evening with food, drinks and good music. The music will be furnished by John Toth and his 5-piece Gypsy orchestra from Bethlehem. The dance will be held at the Dalarda, Fourth and Girard, from 7:00 P. M. until 12:00 midnight, Any member who wishes to bring a friend or relative ^s welcome to do so. All members must show proof at the entrance of belonging to Verhovay. All non­members are to pay $1.00 admission. Drinks and good food will be available during the evening, so come one, come all to this big dance. A grand time is promised to all. Bring your friends and your friend’s friend and show them what a good time really is. It was also decided at the meeting that the bowling season of 1954 would get under way Friday evening, and all members, our both men and women, are welcome to participate in this wonderful past time. Many leisure hours can be spent at the Dalarda at 1144 North Fourth Street, every Friday night, in this competi­tive but friendly sport. Come to the Dalarda and have a good time with all your friends. Branch 45 to honor James Készéi at banquet James Készéi, an officer of Branch 45, Cleveland, Ohio, will be honored at a banquet to be hald 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon, October 25, 1953. The event will take place in the hall of the West Side Magyar Evan­gelical Church, Denison Avenue at West 98 Street. The veteran branch officer, with almost 30 years service in Verhovay branch life, is at present secretary­­itreasurer of Branch 45. The Board of Directors at its Sep­tember, 1953 meeting recognized Mr. Keszei’s enviable Verhovay re­cord by awarding him the Illus­trious Citation with the companion Gold Emblem. The presentation will be made by' National President John Bencze. Also present in official capacity will be Vice President Dr. Andrew Kovács of Cleveland. The banquet plans are in the hands of a special committee consisting of Joseph Drotos, president, George Deli, chairman of the entertainment committee, and Goloman Bertalan, district manager. Verhovay members and friends of Mr. Készéi are requested to attend this affair in his honor.
