Branch 286 OBITUARY Frank Hodzsi, Sr., one of the pil­lars of this branch, died September 10, 1953, at the age of 76. Mr. Hodzsi leaves his wife, 8 children, 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The deceased was a Verhovay member for 45 years. These are the girls of the local Hungarian dance group who were the special entertainment attraction at the 40th anniversary celebration of Branch 248, Monaville, West Virginia, September 6, 1953: The dancers, in Hungarian dress, are left to right: Helen Sabo, Margaret Brescoach. The Branch 39, Beaver Falls, ■member received his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology from Geneva College, Beaver Falls, Pa. A member of the Pre-Medical Society, Louis served as vice presi­dent in has senior year, holding membership also in the German Club for two years and in the Broadcast­ing Club. Bring your friends — the more the merrier. Tickets are now on sale. Do get yours soon. Weddings! On August 15 Frank Balogh, Jr., claimed as his lovely bride Shirley Ann Barango. Their picture will, I believe, appear in this issue. Shirley Ann is a graduate of the Mundaline High School, and Frank, a graduate of the St. George High School, is now well established in his last year of classes at Loyola University. The dinner party re­ception given for them was attended by about 300 persons, who thor­oughly enjoyed the delicious food and the music of Sqpessy’s or­chestra to the wee hours of the morning. Shirley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Barango. Her father is the trustee of our young people’s group and her mother is an hetivé member of the entertainment committee. Frank is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Balogh. His father is our well-known secretary of Branch 15 and has been active in Verhovay affairs for a number of years. Best of luck and much hap­piness to the newlyweds. Another wedding which, took place September 13 joined in matrimony lovely Pauline Krueger and Sam Macri. Pauline is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Krueger of Monitor Avenue ,, and the granddaughter of Mr. Paul Szabó, one of the founder members of an old Chicago Verhovay branch. The young couple spent their honey­moon in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Much happiness and best of luck to the newlyweds. Welcome, New Members, Welcome!
