THE CAMPAIGN OF TRUTH The objectives of the world-wide program of the State Department’s International Information Administration is for peace and freedom and individual opportunity for all peoples. The information approaches necessarily are varied to reach the particular interests of people in particular areas. IN THE FREE WORLD: We seek to build understanding between Americans and like-minded people. We are trying to inspire confidence in the strength of the free world to deter and, if necessary, to resist, Soviet communism. And we also are trying to strengthen political and military cooperation among free peoples. IN THE SATELLITE COUNTRIES: We seek to encourage the spirit of the people and to sustain their hopes of ultimate independence. We are trying to keep them fully informed of the actions and policies of America. And we are also trying to let them know they are not forgotten. IN THE SOVIET UNION: We seek to reach the Soviet people with the truth about the American way of life — our farming and industry; our schools, homes and churches; our aspirations; and our' genuine desire for a just peace. We thus hope to develop a more enlightened understanding of the American people by the Soviets. At the same time, we are trying to give information to the Soviet people that will unmask the Kremlin’s lies and distortions about conditions within the U.S.S.R. and about the free world. The Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association, thTough its English and Hungarian monthly publications, gladly participates in this campaign of truth. We love our country and the principles which made it the greatest nation on earth, and we will strive in every way to combat the lies that the Kremlin would have people everywhere believe. In truth there is light as well as right. Speak it, write it. scatter it to all parts of the globe. The people will then find the way. Now more than ever large quantities of blood are needed and the aid extended to the Red. Cross in this bloodmobile project will go a long way to keep the blood supplies plentiful. The Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association proudly joins in this movement that is so vital and necessary to the well-being of the members of our military -forces as well as to our civilians. Each branch of every fraternal society will be asked to contribute iat least one dollar; in our society the response to date shown by our branches is very heartening and if the contributions continue on the same pattern Verhovay will oversubscribe its goal. Certainly the Verhovay branches will do everything possible to speed their checká or’ money orders to the Home Office because the money is needed urgently. Mr. Coloman Revesz. National Secretary of the Association, and a member of the Executive Committee (similar to the Board of Directors of our society) of the National Fraternal Congress, has worked diligently with the Congress Bloodmobile Committee to assure the success of the plan. He will more than appreciate prompt remittance from all Verhovay branches; contributions should be forwarded immediately to the Home Office, 436 Fourth Avenue, Pittsburgh 19, Pennsylvania. As fraterhalists it is our duty to support this highly humanitarian purpose; our actions should speak louder than our words and our immediate response will be additionally beneficial to all of us. At the same time the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association requests all of its members to support the 1953 Red Cross Campaign which will soon get underway. The American Red Cross is truly a great organization that has never failed our citizens when disaster struck. Every contribution to the 1953 Red Cross Campaign will be the American way the fraternalists can thank the Red Cross for a job well done. Give as much as you can and give early.
