President Entertainment Committee BROWNSVILLE, PA. Branch 43 FLOWER FUND At our July, 1947 branch meeting we voted to set up a flower fund which would be used solely for wreaths when a member died. A wreath for a deceased member would be purchased for $10.00. The individual contribution to this flower fund was to be 50tf a year. Unfortunately some members have failed to contribute their ju^t share (to the flower fund. It certainly is not too much to ask each member to give just 50?1 a year. The honor paid' the deceased member and the alleviation given the mourning family by this noble gesture is worth very much more than the token yearly contribution. Flowers for the dead can not be purchased for a member who failed to pay into the fund. It is embarrassing to have to inform an inquiring family that a wreath could not, be sent because the deceased had failed to pay dues. The flower fund is the only method by which we can honor our deceased members. Ous treasury is too small ,1o bear such financial strain, and the regular monthly branch fee may not be used for this purpose. Verhovay Journal Please continue your payments to the flower fund. It was designed to pay final respects to ALL our members. Stephen Dobozi, President of Branch 26, opened the meeting. He ordered the reading of a letter received from the Home Office. The letter stated that Joseph Tisza had been appointed Branch Manager as of August 1, 1952. The members approved the appointment. Present at the meeting were Field Supervisors Elmer Charles and Gabriel, Nameth. Mr. Charles explained the reason for the new appointment. He mentioned that one of the most important duties of the branch manager is the securing of new members, and that a youthful man is best suited for this. Mr. Tisza fits the picture. The former branch manager, Gabriel Feher, endorsed the stand of Field Supervisor Charles, thanked the members for their past cooperation and asked them to support thei new branch manager. It is hoped tthat this noble attitude and gesture on the part of former branch manager Feher will encourage the other members to entertain an equally charitable feeling toward the new branch manager.
