Eleven hard scholastic years, spent at evening classes, paid off well when Stephen Huzianyi received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree from Loyola University, Chicago, at commencement rites held June 11, 1952, 10:00 a. m., vn the Granada Theater, Sheridan Road and Devon Avenue, Chicago. His Eminence, Samuel Cardinal Stritch, made the address. Degrees were handed 650 graduates of Loyola by the Very Rev. James T. Hussey, S.J., University President. A Cum Laude graduate, Mr. Huzienyi is a member of Alpha Sigma, Nu, National Jesuit Honor Fraternity, PI GAMMA MU, National Social Science Honor Society, and is About to be. initiated into the Blue Key National Honor Fraternity. Stephen Huzianyi is a member of Branch 503, Chicago, and for years held various positions in the branch, among them secretary and publicity agent. His studies and his manyother duties forced him to relinquish branch activities. Mr. Huzianyi is best remembered for the many enlightened articles he formerly contributed to the Verhovay Journal and for his sundry activities in the Magyar life of Chicago. Mr. Huzianyi is married to the (former Margaret Marosvolgyi of Chicago. They have a son Arpad. He is employed by the Santay Corporation of Chicago as assistant comptroller. Best wishes to Stephen Huzianyi, Hungarian American gentleman and ncholar!--------------------------LOUIS SONDI KEEPS ROLLING EM TO VICTORY Bowling Cornucopia Is His There’s no stopping Louis Szondi, that intrepid Branch 137, Racine, Wisconsin bowling expert, when it comes to what he can accomplish in that ever-growing popular American indoor sport. Lo-uis superior bowling skill recently put him in a class with mythical King Midas of Phrygia. There was gold in them thar bowling lanes for Lou when he won about $2,695.50 worth of prizes for his bowling prowess, a new 1952 Nash sedan worth $2,500 and approyimately $195.50 in cash. Szondi won his laurels in the American Bowling Congress Tournament at Milwaukee Arena. It is estimated that some 40,000 bowlers competed in the tourney which ran for a record 85 days. The impressive, number of bowlers serves to magnify the bowling adroitness of Louis Szondi. A tie of 288 between Szondi and Melvin Bowen of Des Moines necessitated an additional contest to determine the winner. Bowen, a 172- average bowler who throws a backup ball rather than the conventional hook, fought hard to defeat Szondi, but the Racine Verhovay member battled it out to victory. It was 209 for Szondi and 201 for Bowen, pretty close indeed. Congratulations to Louis Szondi whose plays pay.
