An ex­cellent union orchestra has been engaged for this event. Admission to the dance 75c, the banquet $1.50, total, including tax $2.25. At the regular monthly meeting held by Branch 226 on December 9, 1951, the following officers were elected for the year 1952: Frank Debreczeni, President; George Viszokay, Controller; Michael Dudash, Sr., Auditor; Menyhért Fejes, Sick Visitor. Branch 114 ANNOUNCEMENT At the December meeting the mem­bership decided that there will be no meetings held in 1952 due to the lack of participation on the part of the membership and also because of the lack of funds available for this purpose. Joseph Churilla called the meeting to order and welcomed the members present. Manager Nick Palla present­ed tire financial statement which was attested by the comptroller, Thomas Kocsis. Acting on solicitations re­ceived, the Branch granted the fol­lowing donations: American Hunga­rian Federation $5, Lake County T. B. Hospital $5, St. Elizabeth Old Peoples’ Home, Bloomfield Hills,, Mich., $5, St. Theresia Orphanage, Darby, Pa., 85. Bethlen Home, Li­­gonier Pa., $5, and flowers and au­tomobile at funeral of the late mem­ber Joseph Kerner $16. Then President -Joseph Churilla submitted, on behalf of the officers) of the Branch, their resignation. On motion of members John Kaply and Raganyi the retiring officers were unanimously reelected. In view of the fact that Mr. Nyiri does not live in Mollenauer, be will be unable to make house calls for the dues. Fabian. 2704 Wedding in Omaha, Nebr. Mr. and Mrs. Edward G. Rezek On October 20, 1951, Miss Elizabeth Helen Kukta, was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Stephen Kukta, (to Mr. Edward George Rezek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rezek, at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Omaha, Nebr., the Rev. Ft. Schnei­der officiating. The beautiful bride was exquisitely Rttired in a gown of candlelight sat­in which featured a three-yard train and leg of mutton sleeves. The sweet­heart neckline was edged with pearls nnd the bodice was of pearls and moonstools. She wore a finger-tip veil with a tiara of orange blos­soms and carried a bouquet of Fiji mums. Miss Mary Kukta, maid of honor, and Miss Margaret Kukta, the bridesmaid, sisters of the bride, wore gowns of white satin, lace berthai edged in rhinestones and their bouq­uets were red satin muffs with white carnations. Best man was Mr. Joseph Glo­­gowski while Mr. Stephen Kukta, Jr., brother of the bride, Mr. Wil­liam Minturn and Mr. Joseph Rezek (served as ushers. Following the inspiring ceremony, the bride’s family entertained the relatives and friends in their home. Her mother, Mrs. Stephen Kukta, is a charter member of Branch 278, Omaha, Nebr., as was her late un­cle, Mr. Andrew Kovalik. All of the bride’s family are members of the Branch. After a honeymoon by automobile to parts of Iowa, Moline, 111., and Cleveland, 0., the young people re­turned to Omaha, where they will make their home. Both the bride and the groom are employed at the Union Pacific headquarters of N. P. Railroad. With our best wishes for lasting happiness we of Branch 278 offer our congratulations to Edward and Elizabeth Rezek. Va., who is manager of Branch PAGE 3 Johnstown Branch 8 Elects Steve Petriiska STEVE PETRUSKA, Manager Branch 8 of Johnstown,* Pennsyl­vania, at their meeting on Sunday, December 16, 1951", elected to the Manager’s office a young man of proved ability who as Manager of Branch 439, also of Johnstown, prov­ed one cf the sensations of last year’s Branch-Managers’ Pre-Conven­tion Membership Contest by winning the 4th prize. This man is Steve Petruska, Jr., of 606 Chestnut Street. Johnstown, Pa., telephone 22-803, who since January 1st has been the duly elected Manager of both branch­es '8 and 439, assuming charge of our entire membership in the City of Johnstown. The recognition of the membership of Branch 8 came as a birthday pre­sent to Steve who observed his 28th birthday on that Sunday. The pic­ture shown above was taken a bit earlier, on the occasion of his gradu­ation in 1943. Since then he has/ grown a bit heftier, bul his smile has kept growing with him right; along. A real go-getter is Steve, an untiring, enthusiastic and always friendly worker whom the members of Branch 8- soon will like as well as he is liked by the membership of Branch 439. And he knows his busi­ness! While our Johnstown mem­bership can rely on him for con­scientious and expert service, the Association is looking forward to a period of growth and advancement in the Johnstown area. Mr. Frank Dudás, Sr., 476 Edith Ave., was elected President, former Manager Andrew Király, Mike Fa­­czan and Sigmund Molnár trustees at the same meeting. A good team ‘that will back Steve in all his en­deavors for Verhovay progress in Johnstown.
