Change of name. After several members spoke on the subject, the meeting unanimously votes to oppose the proposal. 3.) The recommendation included in par. 55 of the Minutes of the Board of Directors’ meeting is unanimously rejected by the meeting. 4.) The matter included in par. 56 of the Minutes of the Board of Di­rectors’ meeting is approved by the majority. In view of the advanced hour, the" meeting by unanimous resolution em­powers the delegate to proceed in all matters at the Convention according to his best judgment. Minutes taken at the meeting of District 29, held in the Hungarian Home of Granite City, 111., on June 17, 1951. Julius Nagy President wel­comes the delegates present and calls the meeting to order at 9:30. The minutes of the last session were read and approved. After the examination of the credentials it was found that ten district delegates were present. After determining the order of busi­ness, secretary read the letter of thef Home Office. After remarks by sev­eral delegates, the contents of the letter were acknowledged. It was noted also that only two delegates are eligible to the National Convention. Upon motion by Stephen Papp, duly seconded, the supplementary amend­ments to the By-Laws proposed by the Board of Directors, were unani­mously approved as a whole, after each delegate expressed his views. Desiderius Elek moves that the two delegates to be elected be in­structed tó use their influence at iha National Convention toward the inclu­sion in the By-Laws of the following provision: If a branch invites a Na­tional Officer to some celebration, that branch shall be obliged to as­sume the per diem fee and travelling expenses. If a National Officer offi­cially represents the Home Office, the treasury of the Association shall pay the per diem fees and travelling expenses. The above recommendation was unanimously adopted by the meeting. On duly seconded motion by Mrs. John Pocsik, the meeting of District 29 protests against the changing of' the name of the Association. Mrs. John Pocsik of Br. 276 and Moses Csömör of Br. 187, were elected dele­gates to the National Convention, and Joseph Koros (Br. 278) and Charles Schafnitz (Br. 209) alternates. Julius Nagy was elected District President and Moses Csömör recording Secre­tary. The district officers and dele­gates were sworn in and then, vhere being no further business, chairman adjourned the meeting at 3 p.m. JULIUS NAGY, District President, CHARLES SCHAFN1TZ, District Secretary. DISTRICT 30-B Br. 525.) Los Angeles, Calif. Minutes taken at the meeting of Branch 525, constituting District 30- B, held on June 17, 1951, in Los An­geles, Calif. Under the chairmanship of President John Chaky, and in ihei presence of 72 members, the follow­ing resolutions were adopted: 1.) If, as we see from the. advertisement (in the Verhovay Journal), only men between the ages of 28 and 40 may be employed as organizers, the same principle shall prevail in regards to the national officers, the Board of Directors and the Field Manager. 2.) The Convention shall retain the right» of the branches to elect their own managers each year, because if the manager is not satisfactory, he can be removed, anyhow. 3.) The Conven­tion shall resolve that every policy­holder whose certificate has been in force for three years, shall receive dividends. There shall be no differ­ence between member and member in' Ten Officers Receive Illustrious Degree And Service Medal BETHLEHEM, PA. — On Sunday, July 22, 1951, ten officers of seven branches were to receive the Illust­rious Degree and the Gold Service Medal, awarded to them by the Board of Directors in recognition of many years of service, at the annual grand picnic of Branch 98, held at the War­­gyas farm in Hellertowu. Though the, weather was not quite favorable be­cause all day long it threatened to rain, an exceptionally large crowd attended the ceremonies. Presentation of the awards was made by Di­rector Stephen Lang, who gave an inspiring address on the service and loyalty of these outstanding fellow­­members who have dedicated the best years of their lives to the advance­ment of the Association. Following the presentation ceremonies, the Il­lustrious Members were guests of Branch 98. Present were to receive the awards: Peter Toth, William Richter and Julius Demko of Branch 98, Anton Katona, Vendel Petrovitz of Branch 2, Michael Hadnagy of Branch 135, Stephen Horvath of Branch 422 and John Soltész of Branch 295. Unable to attend were John Csonka of Branch 111 and Gazer Nagy of Branch 336, whose awards were accepted in their behalf by Field Supervisor Frank J. Cher who also attended the cere­monies. Many out-of town guests! were present and all of them praised the officers and members for their kindliospitality and the splendid spi­rit of fraternalism that prevailed throughout the picnic. This Journal! extends its congratulations and best wishes to the new Illustrious Mem­bers of the Association. May they enjoy for many years to come the sincere affection and fellowship of their fellow-members and the high esteem in which they are held by the Association. The National President and the* National Secretary shall be the chair­man and secretary resp., of the Board. 5.) No member of the Board of Directors or the Auditing Com­mittee shall be eligible more than twice in succession, that is for more than eight years. 6.) In the future, branch-managers shall be paid col­lection fees in accordance with local conditions. 7.) The Field Manager shall be elected, upon recommenda­tion by the Board of Directors and the National Officers, by the National Conventicii from among three Field Supervisors who have at least two years of actual field experience. 8.) The National Convention shall in­struct the Home Office to send a: dues notice to every member one month before the due date. No one who is a member of an organization, society or subversive party which is opposed to the laws of the United States, shall be eligible to become national officer, delegate, to the Con­vention, director, member of the Auditing Committee, or any kind of employee of the Association. 30.) Alexander Gyulai wa selected dele­gate to the National Convention by secret ballot, and Andrew Szladics was elected alternate delegate.
