So is yours truly a candidate for election for Council in the 29th Ward. Joseph Nagy finally bought himself a new car and his wife, Irene, is really happy. HORVATH -- Cleveland, O. j J. J. RUNS FOR CITY COUNCIL Joseph J. Horvath, for many years our popular columnist for the Cleveland East Side area, runs for City Council, in the 29th ward of the City of Cleveland, we were recently informed. He is what we’d call the type of the “Average American” most favored by the voters and for a good reason, too. Because what the great mass of American voters look for, is not a candidate’s standing in so-called higher society, nor his record in higher education with its attendant ‘letters’ and scientific degrees, but his capacity for understanding the common man’s problems, his sympathy for the working man’s woes, both in e&nd out of employment, and similar qualities which are derived more from personal experience than from education and social accomplishments. J. .1. must have been born a Democrat, he certainly is one and he assuredly intends to remain faithful to his political convictions. He has worked a great deal for the candidates of his party and fought a lot for the success of their program. He always has worked unselfishly and this editor feels that now would be the proper time to reward him in some measure for his many years’ of untiring service to the party and the working man. By reward we mean not so much the position of Councilman as the confidence of the voters elevating him to that position. As an old friend of J. J., we wish him the best of luck. THE EDITOR.
