Branch 204 DECEMBER MEETING’S MINUTES Minutes taken at the regular monthly meeting of Branch 204, Cudahy, Wis., held on December 3, 1950. 1.) John Borsos President called [ the meeting to order. — Branch 429 joins in first organizing District managed by Stephen Lukacs. — Joseph Szabó, Manager of Branch 443, to serve as District Manager from January 1, 1951. — An organizing district under the able management of District Manager Stephen Lukacs has been operating in Detroit for a number of years. It was recognized long ago, however, that, like Cleveland, O., the great Motor City represents a fertile enough field for the establishment of a second organizing district. Due to various difficulties the attempts to put such plans inti? effect, did not meet with success. It is a great pleasure, therefore, to announce at this time the establishment of the second organizing district which will commence operations as of January 1, 1951. Branch 429 of Dearborn, Mich., made an important contribution to this forward step by agreeing to join in the new district set-up. While maintaining its separate identity, this branch enters the first organizing district and, as a result, effective January 1, 1951, the insurance business of this branch will be managed . by District Manager Stephen Lukacs, Manager of Branch 36. Members of Branch 429 will pay their dues to.Mr. Lukacs and contact him in all matters pertaining to the business of the Association. The second organizing district is based on Branch 443 which serves 1200 members. A limited redistribution of the members of the branches involved has been effected to facilitate the efficiency of the organizing districts. Members of Branch 36, residing in certain sections of the city, are transferred, with their approval, to Branch 443 and will be served hereafter by the manager of the second organizing district. In recognition of his outstanding production record during ten years of branch management MR. JOSEPH SZABÓ, Manager of Branch 443, has been appointed DISTRICT MANAGER to the second organizing district of Detroit. Since District Managership requires full-time services, Mr. Szabó has resigned his present employment as of the end of the year and, effective January 1, 1951, will devote his entire time to the service of the Association. Mr. Szabo’s merits in building Branch 443 into one of the largest branches of the Association, cannot be denied. And in view of the fact that he declared himself ready to continue his services on a full-time basis, it was a foregone conclusion that he should be the District Manager of the second organizing district. We wish him every success in the world in his new assignment and we sincerely hope that the members now joining his district will find his services satisfactory. While extending a cordial welcome to him to the staff of full-time Verhovay workers, we wish to express our - sincere appreciation to District Manager Stephen Lukacs for his cooperation in the establishment of the second district, to the officers and members of Branch 429 for their understanding of Verhovay’s organizing program and also to Vice-President Julius Macker, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who, acting on behalf of Field Manager Rettmann during his disability, concluded the preparatory negotiations leading to the establishment of the second organizing district. 2. ) The roll call and the minutes of the November meeting had been read and approved by the members attending. 3. ) Manager reads the amendments to the By-Laws proposed by the Board of Directors. After a discussion, the eight members present unanimously approved the proposed amendments. 4. ) The meeting unanimously resolved that the business of the 1951 Convention be completed within one week. 5. ) Manager reports that the districts delegate and alternate delegate is to be elected at this meeting. None of the members having accepted the nomination, no delegate was elected. 6. ) There having been no further business, the meeting adjourned. PAUL SCHMIDT, Manager, JOHN BORSOS, President.
