Unusual Book For ‘Second Generation’ And Our American Friends The Department of the Army has just begun the overseas distribution of an unusual little book, first of its ■kind ever published. The booklet has recently been hailed on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives as “a fascinating and inspiring” new type of Americana. American Hungarians can well be proud of the success of this publication since one of its two authors is a Hungarian by birth, and two full chapters in the book deal with two of Hungary’s greatest sons, Louis Kossuth and Albert Apponyi.. Entitled, “The Visitor Speaks,” on 96 pages and with many splendid illustrations, it deals with those distinguished foreign guests of America in 150 years who were accorded the privilege of addressing the U.S. Congress. The first such honored guest was •the French General Lafayette, — and already the second a Hungarian, Kossuth. Only 36 such dignitaries appeared in our Congress throughout our history, x-epresenting 31 nations. AVhile many large countries wex-e never thjXs honored, little Hung-ary contributed not less than two heroes to this immortal gallery. The authors of the book are Dr. Andor C. Klay and Walter T. Kamuiad, specialists for the Department of State. Copies of this book make extremely suitable and attractive gifts for our “second generation” and our American friends, showing the histoi-ic ties between Hungary and the United States as well as describing the inspiring background of two gi-eat Hungarian fighters for fx-ecdom. The book can be ordered for $1.00 per copy from American Research Associates. (Large discount is extended in case of multiple orders for schools, chux-ches, organizations, etc.) Suite 623 — 2025 Pennsylvania Ave., N.AV. Washington, I). C. NO. CHOICE Young Donald had told his favoi-ite uncle that his mother was very funny about some things. When the uncle asked why he thought so, Donald said: “Well, when we have mince pie for dinner, she asks me whether I will have some, but when we have spinach, she just gives it to me.” TO EVERY VERHOVAY MEMBER!
