WOMEN’S BRANCH 361 OF CLEVELAND TO OBSERVE 15th ANNIVERSARY — National President John Bencze To Be Speaker At Banquet in Verhovay Hall on Sunday, October 22. — The officers of Women’s Branch 361 take great pleasure in extending a cordial invitation to all Verhovay members and branches to the great celebration which is to mark the 15th anniversary of the founding of this well-known and highly esteemed branch. The Verhovay Hall will be the scene of the anniversary banquet to be given on Sunday, October 22nd, at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. During the fifteen years of its existence, Women’s Branch 361 has complied an enviable record of fraternal service and progress. This branch certainly deserves a sincere tribute from all Verhovayans for its contributions to the advancement of our Association. The harmony and cooperative spirit prevailing in the branch under its present officers has attracted many new members to the Verhovay and by this Branch 361 has proved that where fraternalism is actually practiced as a Way of life, there the progress of the Association is assured. An excellent dinner will be prepared for the occasion by the famous cooks of Branch 361. Provisions have been made for first rate entertainment while the Association’s tribute to this sincerely enthusiastic group will be presented by Mr. John Bencze, Verhovay’s National President. Banquet tickets are available at the Branch-Managers, Mrs. Emery Gal, 2781 Ambler Ave., Cleveland, 4, O., telephone SW 1-4749, any of the branchofficers or at the Verhovay District Office, 8637 Buckeye Road, Mrs. Leslie .1. Dus, District Manager. There is no need to assure the guests that they will receive the very best: in food, entertainment and considerate service. Branch 361 is noted for its hospitality and sincere friendliness. Let’s all be there and show the celebrating members of Cleveland’s Women’s Branch that we are proud of them and appreciate their efforts on behalf of the advancement of the Verhovay! Don’t try it. We did, and the stuff overflowed. We tried it ■with this issue of the Journal, hut it was impossible to fit in everything that wanted to see print in the October edition. So — look forward in the next issue for the next installment of the series on Your NEW Social Security .... the picture and story of Pfc. Tony Szabó, a Branch 14 service man . . . the news about Veteran Post Commander Michael Puskas of New Brunswick... the list of Sick Benefits issued in August . . . the story of new member Al Mastics . . . and last, but not least, additional data on the farewell dinner given for the Rettman’s by the Cleveland Verhovayans, briefly described in the TOWNCRIER’s column ... all of which will be included in the next edition of the Journal. Until then, please bear with us: what looked like ample space, proved insufficient to hold the volume cf material to which for various good reasons priority had to be given. THE EDITOR. All members are urged to attend this important meeting. JOSEPH MILLER, JR., Mgr. BARBERTON, O. Branch 63 ANNOUNCEMENT All members of Branch 63 who have loans on their membership certificates, are requested to pay the interests due thereon before the end of November. Payments made during December will be credited at the Home Office in January after the loan statements will have been completed and mailed to the branches. Therefore, the statements to be issued in January will not include credits for payments made in December. To avoid misunderstandings, please make interest payments or payments on the indebtedness before the end of November. Under no circumstances should the interest payment be altogether neglected, because in such a case the interest overdue must bei added to the indebtedness which not only will increase the interest burden but also reduce the proceeds of the membership certificate if the member should die, thereby depriving the beneficiaries of the benefits intended them to receive.
