September 20,1950_________________________ Verhovay Journal PAGE 9 VERHOVAY GIVEN IMPORTANT PART IN 1951 COMMUNITY CHEST CAMPAIGN LOS ANGELES, BRANCH 525 BOWLERS — National Secretary Coloman Revesz Co-Chairman of Fraternal and Organizations Committee. — Chairman of the Fraternal and Organizations Committee for the coming 1951 Community Chest Campaign is Edward H. Gallup, Jr., executive secretary of Pittsburgh Hotel Association, and president of the American Service Institute, Coloman Revesz, secretary of Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association, and George Lesko, president of the United Russian Orthodox Brotherhood of America are his co-chairmen, Mr. Gallup said. The Committee is organized to recruit volunteer solicitors for this fall’s Sold annual appeal on behalf of 92 Chest health, welfare and recreational services through the fraternal and social organizations whose members come from various Nationality groups. Members of the comittee include V. I. Mandich, of the Croation Fraternal Union; Mrs. Margaret Kuzma from the First. Catholic Slovak -Ladies Union; Vendel S. Platek, president of National Slovak Society of the U.S.A.; L. E. Keiner from the Protected Home Circle, and Mrs. Helen Lomakin, secretary of Russian Orthodox Women’s Mutual Aid Society. Also Mrs. F, Knapp, state president of the Polish Women’s Alliance of America; Mr. Lesko; Mr. Revesz; Clarence De Moss, British representative; Peter Zeedick, Russian representative, and Mrs. Allen Donne'y, of the English Speaking Union. Over 15,000 volunteers are needed if the campaign for Red Feather services, including 3 hospitals, clinics, family counseling, employment services, rehabilitation for the handicapped, health services, care for the aged, youth opportunity programs is to be a success, Mr. Gallup said. The campaign opens October 17.
