TRAGEDY IN INGLEWOOD, CALIF. 19 year old mother dies in child-bed, leaves daughter in grandmother’s care. juiy i9,1950_______________________________Verhovay Mrs. Anna Mae Suling Ilaby Cathy Ann Suling Verhovayans in Los Angeles, California were deeply shocked and saddened by the tragedy that had befallen the happy home of George Belme and his family in Inglewood, Calif., on February lltli, when their only daughter, Mrs. Anna Mae Suling, died at the age of 19, the day after giving birth to her little daughter, Cathy Ann, at the hospital. The beautiful young mother was born in Ashland, W. Va., and later became with her parents a resident of Cleveland, 0. There she started her high school education until the family had moved to Inglewood where she continued her studies at Leesinger High School. She graduated in June, 1948, and shortly afterwards, on November 28 of the same year, she became the bride of Mr. Suling. The late Mrs. Suling had been a member of the Verhovay since her early childhood. Her place, vacated by her untimely death, has been filled by little Cathy Ann for whom her widowed father and the bereaved grandparents purchased a One Thousand Dollar Endowment. And the place of the young mother has been assumed by her own mother, the baby’s youthful grandmother, who will care for little Cathy Ann during the years to come. She will be assisted by her mother, Mrs. Dudás, also of Cleveland, who is the great-grandmother of the baby. All of the Belme family are members of the Verhovay F.I. Association on whose behalf Alexander Gyulay, Manager of Branch 525, extended his sympathies to the bereaved family and sent flowers to the funeral of the deceased young mother. We join the Verhovayans of Los Angeles in condoling with the bereaved husband and parents of the late Mrs. Suling. May they find comfort and consolation in little Cathy Ann for whose life her young mother had given her own . . . Sick Benefits Paid to Members in April, 1950 Pr.) Anthony Horvath, Jr. 25.14 2.)
