The statement is acknowledged by the meeting. There being1 no further business, the chairman thanks the members for their attendance and adjourns the meeting. MINUTES, taken at the post-con­vention meeting of District 5, held on November 23rd, 1947, in the Hungarian Home, Berwick, Pa. District chairman Frank Muller welcomes the delegates, requesting them to give due consideration to the business of the meeting. The credentials of the delegates are pre­sented and chairman announces that the meeting is attended by 14 dele­gates, representing 13 branches, and that a quorum is present. Chairman announces that the busi­ness of the meeting- is to take ac­tion in regards to the amendments to the By-laws adopted by the Na­tional Convention and that, therefore, the post-convention district sessions have no jurisdiction to discuss any other matter. The district recorder reads the minutes of the last session, The minutes are approved as read. The following are present: Frank Muller from Parent branch, Vendel Petro­­viez and Anton Katona from Branch 2, John Martz from Branch 3, John ; Kopachy from Branch 11, Joseph j Janaszik from Branch 29, Andrew Arvay from Branch 42, Joseph Egri j from Branch 60, Joseph Tizekker from Branch 135, Michael Zsipay from Blanch 15S, John Titko Sr., from Branch 261, Joseph Vass Jr., from Branch 272, Emery Dclbo from Branch M.31 and Louis Kish from Branch M.132. Branch 1 of Free­land, Pa., has sent no representative to the district session. Chairman calls upon the delegates to the National Convention to ren­der their reports on the proceedings of the convention. John Kopachy, Vendel Petrovicz and Joseph Vass Jr., comply with the request: of the chair, and give detailed accounts on the amendments to the By-laws adopted, and all other actions taken, by the National Convention. Ques­tions concerning the amendments to the By-laws and other actions are asked by several representatives an.l freely responded to by the delegates to the National Convention. The amendments to the By-laws, then, are submitted to a vote by the chairman. As a result of the vote, j the representatives of District 5 un- j animously approve the amendments | to the By-laws in their entirety. Upon motion by Branch 2, district 5 requests all branches assigned ' to the district to notify John Kopa- | chy, district recorder, after January 1st, 1948, as to the amounts of j monthly dues remitted to the Home \ Office and the commission percentage paid to them by the Home Office. The next meeting of District 5 again will be held in Berwick, Pa. The district chairman requests the j delegates to present their statements of per diem fees and travelling ex­penses to the district recorder. MINUTES, talren at the meeting of District 17, held on November 23rd, 1947, at the Verhovay Home in Alliance, O. Acknowledged Thomas Kuti, dis­trict chairman, calls the meeting to order at 10:30 A.M., and extends a cordial welcome to the delegates at- ! tending- the meeting. Roll call is j read and it is found that of the 17 branches assigned to the district, 11 ; are represented by 20 delegates. The following1 is the roil of the delegates: Br. 26, Thomas Kuti, Stephen Dobo­zi, Paul Hanzley; 66, Joseph Bara; 106, Frank Safran, Stephen Fenyő; 141, John Bokor, John Mondell; 171, John Feedler, John Bumbuluc, Jo­seph Bumbulue; 189, James Sera; 321, Vendel Muller, John Fedor; 438, John Agárdi; 514, Frank Molnár, Michael Benedict; M.108, John Elek; M.196, Michael Czibulas. The following branches are not j represented: 142, Youngstown, O., ! 146, Deegan, Pa., 180, Zelienople, Pa.. 338, Warren, ()., 467, Masury, ! 0„ and M.133, Ellwood City, Pa. Following the roll call, district re­corder Molnár reads the minutds of the previous session which are ap­proved as read and attested. Ac­knowledged Thomas Kuti, District Chairman, explains the importance of the meeting and requests the re­presentatives to give due attention to the reading of the amendments to the By-laws which had been sent to the district sessions for final action by the Home Office. District recorder Molnár reads the amendments to the By-laws. After a discussion, John Feedler, repre­sentative of Branch 171, moves that the amendments to the By-laws be approved: The motion is seconded and put to a vote. 12 vote in favor of and 6 opposed to the motion while three refrain from voting. The meeting acknowledges the valuable work of district recorder Frank Molnár and votes him $5 from the district treasury. District recorder announces that the balance in the district treasury is $18.35. The expenses of the district session total $441.12. There being no further business, Thomas Kuti chairman ad­journs the meeting at 5 P.M. He announces that the next meeting will be held in Sharpsville, Pa. THOMAS KUTI, chairman, FRANK MOLNÁR, recorder. DISTRICT 12 MCKEESPORT, PA. MINUTES, taken at the meeting of District 12, held on November 23, 1947, at the Hungarian Home of McKeesport, Pa. 1.) District chairman Louis Novak welcomes the representatives, out­lines the purpose of the meeting, announces the schedule of business j’ and calls the meeting to order. He requests the representatives to pre­sent their credentials and it is found that 16 branches are represented by | 21 delegates. 2. ) The minutes of the district [ meeting held on July 6th, 1947, in j East Pittsburgh, Pa., are read and, Í there being no objections, approved and attested by the signatures of j two representatives. 3. ) In reference to the cricular j letter of Branch 64, Canton, O., the ! chairman puts it up to the meeting whether or not it shall be discussed. The meeting decides to hear the letter, whereupon it is read. The re- ; piescntatives, upon hearing the let­tet , agree that it has been written with the malicious intent to distort the facts and, therefore, decide not to discuss it but to throw it in the waste basket where it belongs. The judiciously thinking members of the district session condemn the inspirer and the signers of the let- j ter for offending and trying to cast suspicion upon the national officers, , the directors and every delegate to the National Convention. The district session assures the | officers of the Association that it I will have no dealings with the au­thors of suclr circular letters nor J with trouble makers. 4. ) The meeting hears the reports of the delegates to the National Con- | vention. Frank Debreczeni renders a detailed account on the proceedings of the convention and reports that the representatives of District 12 have closely followed the instruc­tions of their district and that they had done their. utmost to protect the interests of the .aged members. They could not do more due to the heavy demands of the Insurance Depart­ment. Bertram Kun and Alexander Gazdag follow with their reports and then John Orosz, who was a member of ihe Committee of Ap­peals, gives an account of the case of Joseph Dafago which took up two and a half days of the Committee’s time. His report is heard with utmost attention by the representatives, several of whom put questions to. fellow-member Orosz who replies to the inquiries. In conjunction with his report, fellow-member Orosz states that, in his opinion, should similar cases occur in the future, they should not be brought before the Convention but adjudged by the : national officers and directors. He feels that this matter, too, could have been attended to and, thereby, substantial savings could have been effected. 5. ) The discussion of the amend­ments to the By-laws follows. After a detailed discussion of each article, the amendments are unanimously ap­proved by the meeting. 6. ) The next meeting of the dis­trict will be held in Homestead, Pa. Before the conclusion of the meeting fellow-member John Elek takes the , floor appealing for generous support for the American Hungarian Relief, j Inc., and for urgent help for the i impoverished people of Hungary. GEORGE YISZOKAY, district re­­j corder. DISTRICT 29/B. I DAYTON, O. MINUTES, taken at the meeting of District 29/B., representing Branch 249, held on November 23rd, 1947, in Dayton, O. Branch-President Andrew Papp calls the meeting to order and wel­comes the members attending the I session. He announces that the meet- J ing will discuss no other matter than December 10, 194? the actions taken and the amend­ments to the By-laws adopted by the XXI. National Convention. Chairman requests the recorder to present to the meeting the actions of the National Convention and the amendments to the By-laws adopted by the assembly. Andrew Hankoczky presents the actions of the National Convention which are unanimously approved, in their entirety, by the members at­tending the meeting, ANDREW PAPP, chairman, ANDREW HAN­KOCZKY, recorder. DISTRICT 19 CLEVELAND, O. MINUTES, taken at the meeting of District 19, held on November 23, at the Verhovay Home, 8637 Buck­eye Road, Cleveland, O. Present are the following 11 delegates: Mrs. Emery Pálinkás and Louis Palcza from Branch 54, Vincent Farkas and Andrew Palagyi from Branch 107, Michael Tomko and John Mikula from Branch 149, Frank Komjáthy front Branch 170, Mrs. Emery Gal and Mrs. Coloman Kolozsvárja from Branch 361, Mrs. Arpad Uto from Branc-h 387 and John Kerner from Branch 489. District chairman Frank Komjá­thy calls the meeting to order at 10 o’clock in the morning, extends a cordial welcome to the 11 dele­gates attending the district session and calls for the reading of the minutes which are approved by the delegates and attested. ( . Michael Tomka, duly elected dele­gate to the National Convention, ex­presses his regrets over having been unable to attend the National Con- i vention due to circumstances arising j from his employment. In his place, John Mikula, first alternate dele­­; gate, attended the Convention. Louis Palcza requests that the j report? of the delegates to the Na- I tional Convention be heard at this time. Each of the delegates. Mrs. j Coloman Kolozsvary, Frank Komjá­thy, district chairman, John Kerner and John Mikula, render an account of the proceedings of the Conven­tion a»jd recommend that the amend­ments adopted by the National Con­vention be approved by the meeting. Then, the amendments to the By- I laws are read and discussed in de­tail by the meeting which, finally, unanimously approves the By-laws as amended by the National Conven­­' tion. ; A vote of thanks is given to Mrs. ; Stephen Szabó, President of Branch 361, in appreciation of the excellent dinner served to the delegates to the ; district session. MINUTES, taken at the meeting of District 25, held on November 23rd, 1947, in Detroit, Mich. District chairman John Gyiraszin welcomes the representatives and calls the meeting to order. 18 delegates are present. The text of the amendments to the By-laws furnished by the Home Office is read and the amend­ments are seriatim discussed. The de­legates to the National Convention relate their impressions in regards to the proceedings of the National ! Convention. After, due deliberations, I the amendments to the By-laws are I unanimously approved by the District i meeting. The expenses of the meet­ing amount to $423.68.
