To the knowledge of the Board there are hundreds of cultural, educational institutions, hospitals, orphanages, etc., in Hungary, whose urgent pleas for assistance, in view of their desperate plight, cannot be ignored. Not to comply with individual requests for aid, but to assist institutions whose survival is of vital importance to the future of that country, is the aim of the Board of Directors in respectfully submitting the recommendation to the National Convention assembling on September 8th, 1947, that $10,000, in four annual installments of $2,500 each, be appropriated for this purpose,” 314.)
