Over half a century ago this instinct was aroused in a certain group, nurtured by a degree of intelligent farsightedness, and the application of this intelligence has made possible today this vast organization which has paid to beneficiaries and to members taken ill nearly twelve million dollars. Certainly this achievement is far in excess of the expectations of the originators of this institution, yet the resulting benefits through these fifty-five years of intelligent application are exemplary of cooperation and unity and the good derived by members of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association, an organization created and sustained because of this human instinct. Now, after over half a century of achievements, let us pause a bit. Let us pause to calculate a method whereby this organization may extend its benefits even to a wider sphere—and thereby is born the FIFTY-FIFTH YEAR JUBILEE MEMBERSHIP DRIVE. No doubt you are all aware of this drive, having beeű advised by your respective branch officers, and are aware of the fact that only through conscientious work and cooperation can the aims of this great organization be carried on. To create an enthusiasm in this Drive and to make it as interesting an event as possible, attractive and valuable gifts will be awarded those members who secure sufficient points by bringing new members into the fold. The arrangements for these suitable prizes as well as the necessary points to secure them and the numbers of points allotted for policies sold have been prepared by the respective committees of the different districts. Therefore, we urge that you secure this information from your district secretary. The Chicago District, to whom this message is particularly directed, may secure this information from Mrs. Louis Szabó, 11934 Lowe Avenue, Chicago, if they wish to have same given them in English, and those desiring this information in Hungarian are requested to contact Mr. Ernest Kunstadt, 3245 Lakewood Avenue, Chicago. Midway during our FIFTYFIFTH YEAR JUBILEE MEMBERSHIP DRIVE, the Chicago District branches are planning an elaborate celebration in commemoration of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association’s achievements during these past fifty-five years. Twenty acres of woodland picnic grounds, namely Frank’s Grove, located just outside the city limits of Chicago, at 115th Street and Homan Avenue, have been secured as the site of this event. Numerous items of entertainment are being planned to make this day, June 22, 1941, a memorable one. The committee planning this gala program earnestly seeks your cooperation in the name of fraternalism, for which the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association stands, in order to make June 22nd a day of distinction in the annals of the history of the organization. Young and old must unite to do this. The committee particularly calls upon the young people and members of the English-speaking branches to assist in making the event successful, not only the picnic itself but also the FIFTY-FIFTH YEAR JUBILEE MEMBERSHIP DRIVE, inasmuch as in time to pome the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association will be guided solely by you. Therefore, we wish most sincerely for each and every member to make an earnest endeavor to do his part to promote the interests of our own Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association. 'Fraternally yours, JOHN SZALANCZY, President of the Chicago District Committee.--------------O-------------ATTENTION — CHICAGO DISTRICT A meeting of the Chicago District will be held Sunday, March 2, 1941, beginning at 2:00 P. Monaville, West Virginia I SWEET DREAMS OF YOU 1. As I my thoughts review, 2. There’s something I must confess. ■ 3. Ever since I met you, 4. I found a world of happiness, 5. In my sweet dreams of you! 6. There’s happiness ahead, I can see, 7. ’Cause sweet thought of my dreams, stay with me, 8. I am no longer lonely, I am no longer blue. 9. I found my one and only, in my sweet dreams of you. 10. A world so bright and happy, 11. Just the place for you and me. 12. Life is too real it seems, 13. Let’s go back to our dreams, 14. And dream sweet dreams of you! (This poem is protected. Use in whole or part is forbidden.) II . SWEET HEAVENLY HEAVEN Love will just be love, No matter what befall it. I have a love dream, And this is what I call it. Sweet heavenly heaven. It’s just a made-up world of mine, Just we two in a world divine. Sweet heavenly heaven. I think and dream so much of it. Haven’t you felt a touch of it? Closest to this earthly paradise, Is looking into your lovely eyes. I’m sure that you’re my dream in disguise. Sweet heavenly heaven. That’s what I call our rendezvous, And that’s how much I think of you! (This poem is protected. Use in whole or part is forbidden.) Every Branch Should Report Its Activities Through the Journal
