Johnny Komar, the ace pitcher, starred in his pitching with 17 strike outs, and Arnold played well, driving across 4 runs by hitting in the cluch. This game was won in the 9th inning by Jacobs Creek as the Ferry team was leading 4 to 2; then in the 9th Homer batted for P. Ritz and collected a base hit to start the Pennsylvania boys on the road »to victory. It was a big 9 th for the Creekmen, with 5 runs and a defeat for the Ohioans. — * * * f On June 30th at Jacobs Creek, Pennsylvania, the Jacobs Creek Verhovays repeated their previous successes by defeating Windber in a game which demonstrated the pitching prowess of Johnny Komar and the batting ability of the Jacobs Creek team. This is the sixth straight Verhovay victory earned by the battling Creekman. It was a good game with Windber fighting all the way trying to score at least one run. In the 5th inning Windber was near the home plate on two straight singles and a ground out; then on a fly to right field. But a perfect throw by James Hazy caught the runner at the plate for an out. 4= * * Following are thescores for both games: Martins Ferry AB R H E Bruney 2b 4 1 i 0 Boldrin, as 4 1 0 0 F.
