JACOBS CREEK WINS THIRD IN ROW Martins Ferry Is Third Victim As Komar Stars Again Jacobs Creek, Pa., Sun­day May 26th.—Johnny Ko­mar was again the star of the day when he held the Ferrymen to six hits and two runs. Komar fanned ten of the opposing stickmen and himself hit a pair of triples and a single. VERHOVAY SOFTBALLERS PLAY UNDER LIGHTS Branch 14 Whips Holy Family 5-4 in Night Game Cleveland, Ohio May 28th. —Refusing to “meet the sun half way,” as the popular song would have them do, the Cleveland Verhovays de­feated The Holy Family team under the Mazdas, on May 28th. This was Branch 14’s first game of the season. Night games are some­thing new to Verhovay Base­ball and Softball circles and we hope there will be more of them.
