It was made up of the interior hall of the Kultúr Színpad (Culture Stage), an establishment already in operation before World War I in the Schoolteachers Home in Kinizsi utca, and a very pleas­ant restaurant courtyard. The management of the Home, in conjunction with the Pedagogical Film Factory, with which the institution shared its building, was in charge of the initially random screenings. The little cinema, whose programme policies were always characterised by a spirit of mass education, soon became popular with the mainly working and lower middle class population of districts VIII and IX.
