There’s free admission for all one day per week, but that day sometimes changes. Wheelchair access to all floors is by lift from a side entrance, hence the steps leading to the main entrance can be avoided. There is a buffet inside. Special activities are organised for children, particularly in the summer. These involve handicrafts, painting, film-shows, etc. connected to historical themes. Agricultural Museum [Mezőgazdasági Múzeum] Situated in the fairy-castle-like Vajdahunyad Castle in the City Park and visible across the lake from the back of Heroes Square [Hősök tere] (underground station here). A large museum with lots of attractive displays covering farming, forestry, horse-breeding, agriculture, winemaking, sheep-rearing, etc. Lots of models of animals, and much equipment both large and small. Texts are in Hungarian but the displays speak for themselves. A guidebook in English is available and an English-speaking guide can be booked in advance (tel: 141-2011).
