1. CJSEFCIL TO KNOW Some General Information Tourinform Tourinform is the name of Budapest’s central tourist information bureau. It deals with tourist enquiries of all kinds. English and other foreign languages are spoken and the staff are invariably very efficient and helpful. Tourinform is situated near Deák tér metro station, at no. 2 Sütő u., which is the short pedestrian precinct leading off from the southwest corner of the square. Open every day 8-20. Telephone enquiries can also be made - 1179-800. Finding out For forthcoming and special events, and times of programmes which vary, the following sources are useful: 1. English-language newspapers. Budapest has two — “Budapest Week”, published on Thursdays, and the “Daily News” currently undergoing reorganisation and thus published only on Fridays. Both contain extensive listings. 2. “Programmes in Hungary”, a fairly comprehensive list of cultural events, published monthly in English and German, and available in hotels and travel offices.
