Zádor Anna: Neoclassical Pest - Our Budapest (Budapest, 1993)

Gömöri Hoüse (Török Pharmacy) decades were extremely eventful. Secular and religious buildings as well as a great number of palaces and tenements were erected in the growing area that was then Pest. Perhaps, mention should be made of two symptoms that disrupt the completeness of this excellent town development. One of them is the small number of squares and parks. There were only two genuine squares in Pest (the present Vörösmarty tér and József nádor tér) since the today’s Roosevelt tér was a landing market and Erzsébet tér was an actual market place at that time.
