Zádor Anna: Neoclassical Pest - Our Budapest (Budapest, 1993)
Fashion plate from 1859 is flanked by four-axled parts on each side. The back of the building (facing east) is more emphatic: its eight central axles are enriched with grooved Corinthian pillars, leading to a restrained reproduction of the facade with its flight of stairs, peristyle and fewer sculptural decorations. The interior has the same atmosphere as its dignified outside; in addition, its artistic solutions are even more elegant. Pollack had a talent for shaping space when given an opportunity to do so. Here, he created an especially successful progression of rooms on both the mezzanine level and on the ground floor. 23
