It is worth saving for one more reason-it was in connec­tion with the construction of this house that the designer formulated his novel philosophy as an architect, which came to be so characteristic of the period’s art. That is why we cite his words as quoted in the journal Magyar Iparművészet in 1902 (Applied Arts in Hungary): “Therefore I deemed it expedient to arrange the facade altogether freely, in keeping with the aspirations of modernity, rather than in the framework of the va­rious historical styles.
