Török Bank, glass mosaic mounted on a ferro concrete structure to meet that condition. Adapting the technology introduced by Belgian Art Nouveau masters, they forced the huge windows into iron frames. The dark contours of the frames form a wavy, rhythmic facade. Dominating the entire building is Miksa Róth’s glass mosaic showing the glorification of Hungária. The master composed the two irregularly shaped windows into the mosaic, which occupies the space between the top of the elevated gable and the wavy cornice. The windows are almost completely entwined by the locks ending in snake heads which grow out of two female heads beneath. The glass mosaic presents the apotheosis of the country’s history. In the middle is seated Our Lady, the Patron of Hungary, on a glittering throne, with a halo radiating golden rays of the rising sun. The personification of Hungary is surrounded by figures from the country’s thousand year history.
