The restaurant of the Hotel Astoria in 1964 the communist directorate quartered themselves in the building. These interludes were followed by twenty-four peaceful years. Then, in spring 1944, the wine bar in the basement, today’s night club, was turned into a detention facility where prisoners of the Gestapo were held.
