Zeidler Miklós: Sporting Spaces - Our Budapest (Budapest, 2000)

Fencing hall in a former synagogue Puskás and Kocsis, achieved its greatest successes. The stadium was equipped with an electric lighting system in 1967, and in the mid-eighties it was thoroughly renovated. The new stadium named after the player Bozsik was inaugurated in 1986; the new facility has standing room for 9,000 and seats for another 6,000 spectators. The new sports complex also houses athletics competitions and handball games. At the Tüzér utca centre of Budapesti Honvéd (at No. 53 Dózsa György utca, district XIV) there is a sports hall, a 33-metre, open-air swimming pool as well as covered and outdoor athletics facilities. The association’s fencing hall-possibly the most beautiful of its kind in the world-can be found within the walls of a former synagogue, the neighbouring building at No. 55. 46
