Adamkó Péter - Dénes György - Leél-Őssy Szabolcs: The Caves of Buda - Our Budapest (Budapest, 1992)

A cluster of aragonite crystals is the Eldorado found during the construction of a housing project. One of the construction workers notified the speleologists of the Pál-völgyi Cave. Exploration work commenced soon thereafter. The number of volunteers decreased due to the freezing winter weather. The difficulties of the work far exceeded that what was experienced at other caves of Buda earlier. It took 60 days of hard work in two shifts just to break through and get into the main part of the system. After its discovery the cave was carefully surveyed. Clp to now the total known length of the cave is over 5 kilometers. The exploration leaders expect that with further new discoveries it will probably turn out to be a 10-12 km long system. Summer exploration camps supported by the City of Budapest have made impor­tant new discoveries every year.
