Kiss Katalin: Industrial Monuments - Our Budapest (Budapest, 1993)

The Ganz Electric Works. Right: entry to the restaurant World War, the factory was badly damaged, and a large part of its buildings were destroyed. In the period of socialist industrialization its area doubled, though a part of it stands empty today. Presently nobody knows the future of this industrial plant, inserted as it is between residential areas and a green belt, at the meeting of Buda’s inner city area and hills. In one of the streets flanking the factory, an unusual eating place has been established. This postmodern restaurant, furnished with the souvenirs and remem­brances of the former regime, is a popular meeting place for young people. It is wise to reserve a table for the evening, since it is usually crowded with high-school and university students. 11
